CBSE schedules webinars on introducing Skill Modules in Schools
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a series of webinars to create awareness among schools about the modalities of introducing Skill Modules in their curriculum. The move is in line with the National Education Policy – 2020, which emphasizes the promotion of Skill education in schools.
The webinars will begin on May 1, 2023, with an orientation session on introducing Skill Modules in schools. The subsequent webinars will cover specific Skill Modules offered by the Board, such as Pottery, Bakery, Khadi, Graphic Novel making, Block Printing, Mask Making, Mass Media, Herbal Heritage, Food Preservation, Blue Pottery, Kashmiri Embroidery, and Embroidery.
These Skill Modules are aligned with the Skill subjects being offered by the Board in Secondary and Senior Secondary classes. They are also available on the CBSE academic website under the ‘Skill Education’ webpage.
The webinars aim to familiarize teachers with the contents of the Skill Modules and provide a platform to discuss the modalities of integrating them into the school curriculum. Interested schools can register for the webinars through the links provided in the schedule.
The CBSE has emphasized the need to integrate vocational education seamlessly into higher education by providing quality vocational exposure at an early age. The Board hopes that these Skill Modules will help every child learn at least one vocation and be exposed to several more.
It is important to note that the webinars are free of cost, and no TA/DA is admissible as per CBSE norms. For any queries, interested schools can write to the CBSE Department of Skill Education.
