CBSE to organize a Two-Day Capacity Building Program for Teachers Teaching Fashion Studies (Skill Subject)

Capacity Building Program for Teachers Teaching Fashion Studies

In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a capacity-building program for teachers teaching the skill subject ‘Fashion Studies’. The program aims to encourage holistic development and minimize rote learning while promoting 21st-century skills.

Traditional pedagogy often focuses on educational theory and lacks student engagement with real-world activities. To address this issue, the Department of Skill Education, CBSE is organizing an activity-based training program that will provide teachers with the opportunity to engage meaningfully with practical activities. Additionally, the teachers will be able to assess their competencies through self-efficacy and remediation.

The program is scheduled for 1st and 2nd June 2023 and will be held offline at DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, Sreshtha Vihar Delhi – 110092. The program will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM on both days. Interested teachers can register for the program through the provided link, and the last date for registration is 28th May 2023.

Please note that registration is on a first-come-first-served basis, and no TA/DA is admissible as per CBSE norms. In case of any queries, interested participants can write to Dr. Swati Gupta, Deputy Secretary, Department of Skill Education, CBSE, on the email id – [email protected].

This program is a great initiative by CBSE to promote skill-based learning and encourage teachers to engage with practical activities. It is expected that such programs will help in developing better learning outcomes and prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century.
