New Delhi, May 19, 2023 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is taking a proactive step towards improving student engagement by organizing a two-day Capacity Building Program for teachers instructing the skill subject of ‘Shorthand English’. The program aims to align teaching methodologies with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes holistic and engaging learning experiences, reducing rote learning, and fostering the development of 21st-century skills.
Recognizing the limitations of traditional pedagogy, the Department of Skill Education at CBSE has designed an activity-based training that will provide teachers with opportunities to engage meaningfully with real-world activities. By participating in this offline training, teachers will enhance their teaching techniques and assess their own competencies, facilitating self-efficacy and growth.
The Capacity Building Program is scheduled to take place on the 5th and 6th of June 2023, at the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) located at 1, Ashoka Road, Hanuman Road Area, Connaught Place, New Delhi 110001. The program will run from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on both days, with participants required to report to the venue at 09:00 AM.
