National Awards to Teachers 2023-24: Self Nominations Open

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, celebrates the exceptional work of teachers with the National Awards to Teachers. This award honors outstanding teachers who make a significant contribution to education. This year, the Ministry is looking for six nominations from private independent schools affiliated with CBSE. CBSE invites interested and eligible teachers and principals from these schools to nominate themselves.

Who Can Apply?

  1. Teachers: You must have completed at least 10 years of regular service in a school affiliated with a recognized Board of school education by 31st March 2024.
  2. Principals: You must have completed 10 years of regular service as a teacher and 5 years as a Principal in a CBSE affiliated school by 31st March 2024.
  3. Retired Teachers/Principals: If you retired on or after 31st March 2024, you can still apply.
  4. Categories: Principals cannot apply as teachers, and you can apply under only one category.

How to Apply?

  1. Online Applications Only: Applications will only be accepted online. You can register and fill out the application at CBSE Official Website or CBSE Academic Website.
  2. Deadline: Submit your application by 8th July 2024.

Documents Required

  1. Undertaking: A statement confirming that all submitted details are correct and documents are genuine.
  2. Recommendation Letters: These should include proof of continuous and regular service and a vigilance clearance from the school manager.
  3. Certificates: Include your Class 10/11/12 certificates, degrees, and other relevant qualifications.
  4. Class Results: Provide your class results from board/school.

Selection Process

  1. Merit List: The top 24 scorers will be shortlisted based on experience, age, qualifications, and exam percentages.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will have two days to upload their verified documents.
  3. Final Selection: The National Level Scrutiny Committee will invite shortlisted applicants for an interactive session to choose the final six nominees.
