CBSE Announces Storytelling Competition 2024-25
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Storytelling Competition for the academic session 2024-25. This competition is open to students from Class 3 to Class 12. Schools can now submit storytelling videos of their students. Here are the key details.
Categories of Participation
- Primary: Class 3 to 5
- Middle: Class 6 to 8
- Secondary: Class 9 to 10
- Sr. Secondary: Class 11 to 12
Topics and Language
Students can select a topic from those provided in Annexure I. They can tell their stories in either Hindi or English.
Purpose of the Competition
The storytelling competition aims to encourage creativity and self-expression among students. Storytelling helps improve communication skills, boosts confidence, and enhances imagination. It also provides a platform for students to share their unique perspectives and ideas. By participating in this competition, students can develop their narrative skills and learn the art of engaging an audience.
Levels of Participation
School Level
- Schools will conduct their own competitions.
- Dates: 16th July 2024 to 13th August 2024.
- One best entry per category will be selected to compete at the Regional Level.
Regional Level
- This level will be conducted digitally via the CBSE Storytelling App.
- Dates: 13th August 2024 to 27th August 2024.
- One best story per category will be selected from each CBSE Region. Winners will get an online Merit Certificate.
National Level
- Best entries from the Regional Level will be evaluated digitally by experts.
- Winners will receive an online Merit Certificate.
Registration and Video Submission
- Schools must register the selected students on the CBSE Storytelling web-portal ‘मेरी कहानी, मेरी जुबानी’ at CBSE Storytelling Portal.
- Registration and video uploading: 13th August 2024 to 27th August 2024.
- Videos must be uploaded using an Android phone via the CBSE Storytelling App from the Google Playstore.
- Schools must obtain consent from parents/guardians before uploading videos.
Video Duration and Size
- Primary: Up to 2 minutes
- Middle: 2-3 minutes, not more than 2 MB
- Secondary: 3-4 minutes
- Sr. Secondary: 3-4 minutes
Assessment Criteria
Entries will be judged on:
- Creativity
- Fluency
- Content Delivery
- Coherence
- Expression
Additional Information
- Participation in this competition can be added to the student’s portfolio as part of the internal assessment.
- Schools should not wait until the last date to submit their entries.
- The decision of the judges is final.
